Maqam Sika

Postby qas86 » Wed Dec 18, 2013 9:24 am

I studied the basics of Maqam Sika with an Egyptian Qari of al-Qur'an al-Karim. I must say that it sounds 'sadder' and more spiritual than the Syrian Sika which seems more jollier. The Egyptian Sika sounds similar to Moroccan Sika (though I believe they sing both Moroccan Sika and Syrian Sika).
I am submitting some links to recordings of the famous poem Tala'al Badru 'Alayna in Moroccan, Syrian and Egyptian.
Please can you explain the differences between them. In particular, the last note (alaynA, for example)
Moroccan ( ... 0Badru.mp3)
Moroccan ( ... 0Badru.mp3)
Syrian ( ... 20Sika.mp3)
Egyptian ( ... 20sika.mp3)
Many thanks
