Fakkaruni, Verse 1

Another classic late Umm Kulthum song very popular with dancers (though I've cut out the famous instrumental intro in this analysis as well), but, again, a very rich Tarab composition. The unusual modulation in this verse (#04, #07, #13) practically passes unnoticed because it is set up so well. See the Unique Pathways page for a full discussion.
See the following analyses: Jins Rast, Jins Nahawand & Nakriz, Jins Hijaz, Jins Rast & Ajam Baggage, Jins Secondary Rast, Rast Pathways: Nahawand, Rast Pathways: Hijaz
